Portrait Project

Hi there -

My name is Justin. I am a photojournalist based in Hong Kong. I am currently working as a photo editor at Bloomberg News.

In this project, I aim to photograph individuals with compelling stories like yourself. If you're open to it, I'd like to include you in this series. The process would involve a 30-minute session, including setup time.

I would first off with setting up the equipment, which includes one light, one softbox, and one backdrop, sort of similar to the setup like this:

I would like to speak with you and learn your story. Then, I will be photographing you with a film camera and also some Instax film (that you get to keep afterward). The film will then be sent off to a developing lab for processing.

Once the photographs are ready, you can use them however you see fit, provided you credit me. In return, I kindly request your permission to use these images on my website, social media, and other publishing platforms in the future.
